LAHORE -UNS: In a strong response to India’s alleged water aggression, activists of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) reached the Chenab Bridge to register their protest. Boarding boats and waving party flags, the protesters chanted slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Down with Indian terrorism.” The protest was part of a countrywide “Defence of Pakistan” campaign organized by the MML, featuring demonstrations and Friday sermons condemning India’s actions.
Addressing massive gatherings PMML President Khalid Masood Sindhu and other leaders including Qari Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, Hafiz Khalid Naik, Faisal Nadeem, and Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aggressive policies pose a serious threat to regional peace. “The nation is united on the water issue,” they emphasized, warning that every drop of water is vital to Pakistan’s national security.
Speakers accused India of using water as a weapon following its long-standing support for terrorism inside Pakistan. They declared that Modi’s ambitions would backfire and likened him to Gorbachev, saying, “If India dares initiate a war, it won’t be able to end it.” They warned New Delhi that this is not the Pakistan of 1971—Pakistan’s military and its people are ready to face any aggression.
Condemning India’s alleged violation of the Indus Waters Treaty, speakers also highlighted attempts by the Modi government to sabotage the Kashmiri freedom movement by blaming Pakistan. They argued that suspending the treaty is nothing short of a declaration of war.
Friday sermons across cities such as Islamabad, Multan, and Gujrat echoed similar sentiments, and citizens passed resolutions expressing solidarity with the Pakistani armed forces. Qari Yaqoob Sheikh and others said, “India should be answered in its own language,” vowing to awaken and unite the nation against Indian hostility.
