LAHORE -UNS: Association of Pakistani Graduates from Russia and CIS (APGR & CIS) organized an event in relation with 65th anniversary of People’s Friendship University (RUDN) Moscow-Russia in Gymkhana Lahore on 12 th January. It was a very well organized and beautiful function, which was attended by many intellectuals and civil society activists from different spheres of life.
Dr. Shahid Hassan, Chairman APGR&CIS and Ambassador of Russian Education and Science in Pakistan thanked the participants and remembered his unforgettable memories while he was studying in RUDN. Dr. Ashraf Nizami, President Pakistan Medical Association Lahore put light on the poetry of Pushkin and recalled the beautiful days of Soviet era. Engr. Iftikhar Ali, General Secretary, Association of Pakistani Graduates from Russia, and CIS (APGR&CIS) appreciated the role of RUDN being one of the leading universities not only of Russian Federation but also a renowned and one of the top ranked Universities of the world.
Senator Waleed Iqbal also shared his memories of the time he lived in
Moscow and recited few verses of the poetry of his grandfather Dr Allama
Iqbal and Pushkin. Many of other dignitaries also spoke on the occasion and
congratulated People’s friendship university on its 65 th anniversary and
putted light on different areas of Pak Russ relations and the opportunities
exists for further strengthening bilateral relation and mutual trade.

The event was ended with cake cutting ceremony of the 65 th anniversary of
People’s Friendship University, Moscow (RUDN)
