South Korea wants to increase trade relations with Pakistan: Ambassador Park Kajeon

ISLAMABAD -UNS:Chairman Capital Office Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Karim Aziz Malik meeting with Ambassador of South Korea Park Kajeon at the Federation Office. President FPCCI Atif Ikram said in his message regarding the meeting that Korea has benefited by investing in CPEC projects and special economic zones to increase regional connectivity and free trade agreement for the promotion of trade has proved to be beneficial for both countries. Pakistan, with a population of 240 million, is connected to Afghanistan and Central Asian countries, due to which Pakistan is an important country in terms of investment for the world. Pakistan has important sectors like agriculture, gems and jewellery, mines and minerals, marble and granite, entertainment in which Korean investors can invest. Pakistan-Korea Joint Business Council will be formed soon.

Chairman Capital Office Karim Aziz Malik said that bilateral trade between the two countries is one and a half billion dollars, which requires joint efforts to increase. Federation of Chambers of Pakistan, Trade Development Authority is organizing Gems and Jewelery Exhibition in September this year. We suggest that companies from South Korea also participate in it. FPCCI along with other Chambers of Commerce of Pakistan can also organize Mango Festival in Korea Trade delegations should be formed to increase the communication between the business communities of the two countries.

Convener Diplomatic Committee FPCCI Ahmad Waheed said that we wish Korean electronics companies, beauty products companies to invest in Pakistan as well, Samsung mobile should be assembled in Pakistan, this mobile has many users in Pakistan. The advantage of this will be that on the one hand its price will be reduced locally and on the other hand people will also get employment. Koreans have taken their economy very high in a few years and we want to benefit from their experience. Pakistan is a safe country in terms of work and investment, there is no problem with payments. Korean companies can invest here risk-free, we will welcome them.

South Korean Ambassador Park Ki-joon said on this occasion that South Korea is willing to increase trade relations with Pakistan, South Korean investors can also find opportunities for investment and joint ventures in CPEC projects in Pakistan. Korean companies should participate in the Gems and Jewelery Exhibition in September and the proposal to hold a Mango Festival in Korea is also good. Efforts will be made to further improve bilateral trade between Pakistan and South Korea by promoting closer ties with the Federation of Chambers of Pakistan.

Chairman Coordination Malik Sohail Hussain, Special Coordinator Afshan Malik, Arif Butt, Amina Malik, Rashid Humayun and others were also present on this occasion.
