ISLAMABAD -UNS: A delegation from the British Council, led by Ms. Sarah Parvez, Head of Education, British Council Pakistan and Dr Nasir Khan, Team Lead EU TVET project, visited the National University of Technology (NUTECH) today to explore collaboration opportunities in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
The three-member team, comprising representatives from the British Council and GIZ, met with the Rector of NUTECH, Lt Gen Moazzam Ejaz HI(M) (Rtd ), and engaged in discussions regarding potential partnerships to enhance TVET initiatives in Pakistan. During the meeting, discussions centered around investing in four key components, including the establishment of two Centers of Excellence (CoEs), curriculum development in High-Tech trades, Green Skills, and initiatives to empower women through skill development. The proposed collaboration seeks to leverage the expertise and resources of all parties involved to promote innovation and excellence in TVET education.
Ms. Sarah expressed her enthusiasm about the potential collaboration, stating, “We are excited about the prospect of working closely with NUTECH to drive positive change in the TVET sector. Through strategic partnerships and targeted investments, we aim to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the rapidly evolving industries of tomorrow.”
The visit by the British Council team underscores the commitment of international organizations to support Pakistan’s efforts in advancing TVET education and promoting socio-economic development.
