GUJRANWALA : Chairperson ASEAN Committee and Philippine Ambassador Maria Agnes, said that the ASEAN region is an important trade bloc with rapid growth in Asia.Speaking at the two-day ASEAN Business Forum under the auspices of the Gujranwala Business Center, she said that
the purpose of this forum is to bring the business community of Gujranwala closer to the ASEAN countries to promote trade and economic activity. Ambassadors and trade councilors from Vietnam, Thailand, Brunei, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia participated on this occasion. Honorary Council General Philippines Imran Yusuf and Fahdal Sheikh, Honorary Council General Sri Lanka Yasin Joya, Honorary Council General South Sudan Shahid Sajjad, President Pakistan Philippines Business Forum Haseeb Khan, Director Business Center Usman Nawaz Bajwa, Senior Vice President Chamber Hamis Gulzar, General Manager Outreach Sumida Hasnain Javed, former presidents of the Chamber Khawaja Zarar Kaleem, Akhlaq Ahmed Butt, former vice presidents Irfan Yaqoob Butt, Azhar Aslam, Ajmal Awan, Malik Amin Naz and industrialists and businessmen participated in large numbers.
Maria Agnes said that the industrial products of Gujranwala are of international standards and we hope that through this forum, the business community of Gujranwala will get an opportunity to spread business in the ASEAN region. The ambassadors of Land, Brunei, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia informed about the economy and business opportunities of their countries. Eight business groups of Gujranwala, Sonex, Suprasia, Ashraf Group, Minhas, Waqar Rice, Mehesen Industries and Hunting Knife Association informed about their industries, exports and products. I welcome 24 diplomats including ambassadors, trade councilors of seven countries on their arrival in Gujranwala. They said that the purpose of Gujranwala Business Center is to introduce the industries of Gujranwala at the international level and promote the export of local products. Ahmad Ikram Lone said.
