Doha -UNS: The State of Qatar has issued a strong condemnation of the brutal violations and grave assaults perpetrated by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) during their recent attacks on the city of El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, Sudan.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s profound concern over the alarming escalation of violence and the worsening humanitarian situation resulting from these assaults. The Ministry emphasized the urgent need for the RSF to immediately halt all hostilities against civilians, uphold its obligations under international humanitarian law, and ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian assistance to affected populations in full accordance with the Jeddah Declaration.
The Ministry reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s unwavering stance that the only viable path to resolving the Sudanese crisis lies in dialogue, negotiation, and peaceful means — rejecting the logic of force and violence. Qatar underscored the importance of safeguarding Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, as well as preserving the cohesion of the Sudanese state and institutions.
Furthermore, the statement reiterated Qatar’s categorical rejection of any form of foreign interference in Sudan’s internal affairs, affirming that such interventions exacerbate instability and hinder the prospects for a sustainable political settlement.
Qatar renewed its call on all Sudanese parties to place the supreme national interest above all considerations, to exercise maximum restraint, and to engage constructively in efforts aimed at restoring peace, security, and stability across Sudan.
The State of Qatar reaffirmed its continued support for all regional and international initiatives seeking to end the conflict and alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, in line with its firm humanitarian and diplomatic commitments
