Islamabad-UNS:In a remarkable development for Pakistan’s export sector, Denmark has emerged as a leading destination for Pakistani goods, recording significant growth despite a challenging international trade environment.

According to official figures, Pakistan’s exports to Denmark surged from USD 190 million in FY 2022–23 to an impressive USD 300 million in FY 2024–25, reflecting a robust 32% growth in the last fiscal year alone. The consistent upward trend underscores Denmark’s growing importance as a key trade partner and a gateway to the Scandinavian market.

Denmark, though a relatively small country, boasts a flourishing economy and one of the highest standards of living in the world. Its increasing demand for quality textiles and sustainable products has opened new avenues for Pakistani exporters.

A major boost came from the textile sector, where Danish fashion giant Bestseller — one of the country’s largest apparel companies — significantly expanded its sourcing from Pakistan. The company cited superior product quality and strong compliance with environmental and labor standards as reasons for deepening its trade ties.

With this surge, Denmark now ranks among Pakistan’s top 25 export destinations, a milestone that reflects both countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral trade relations.

Officials attribute this success to the continued engagement and facilitation efforts by the Embassy of Pakistan in Copenhagen, which has actively promoted business-to-business linkages and supported professional exchanges. The introduction of a business-friendly visa regime has further encouraged entrepreneurs and investors to explore opportunities in both markets.

Trade experts believe that Denmark’s strategic location in Northern Europe positions it as a gateway to the broader Scandinavian region, offering Pakistani businesses a platform to expand their footprint across the continent.

The positive momentum, stakeholders hope, will pave the way for deeper economic cooperation between Pakistan and Denmark, setting a promising tone for future trade and investment.
