Committee formed over creation of new province

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Thursday formed a special committee to look into constitutional amendments necessary for the creation of a new province.

The committee comprises disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Kumar, PTI MNA Nuzhat Pathan, and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) MNA Sabir Hussain.

While the federal minister for water resources, Khursheed Ahmad Shah, Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) MNA Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi, and Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPP) MNA Naveed Jeeva were also included in the committee.

According to the TORs (Terms Of Reference), the committee is directed to present a report on a bill for amendments to Articles 25B, 51, 63B, 92, and 106 within thirty days.
