ISLAMABAD -UNS: Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah met Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday to request that the PDM should not hold a protest outside the Supreme Court.
The meeting took place amidst the current political unrest in Pakistan and the PDM’s planned protest outside the Supreme Court. Ishaq Dar and Rana Sanaullah urged Maulana Fazlur Rehman to reconsider the protest location and hold protest at D-chowk.
Meanwhile, addressing a news conference on Sunday evening Rana Sanaullah that he had requested the PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to change the location of protest due to security concerns adding that reports presented to him were ‘alarming’ while hoping that he was expecting a positive response.
He added the people were angry and if protests occurred in red zone, then it would be difficult to control the people. Meanwhile, PDM chief was yet to reach a decision.
Earlier, PDM chief announced that they would continue sit-in outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan until the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Ata Bandial resigns from his office.
The PDM chief made the announcement after an emergency meeting of the PDM, attended by various political leaders including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz.
