ISLAMABAD : Monday April 3, can be a memorable day in the judicial and political history of Pakistan.A three members bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandia is expected to decide an important case decision in Punjab elections case.Which will have far-reaching effects on political uncertainty and political future in the country. This will become most important day of the judicial and political history of Pakistan.
The ruling coalition’s decision to file an objection on the Supreme Court three members bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial. The important decision of the Supreme Court is expected in the country’s history important case on Monday(today).
The three major parties in the government coalition have decided to challenge the current bench in the Punjab,KP election case.
A three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan will hold a hearing related to the Punjab KP elections in the Supreme Court at 11:30 tomorrow on Monday.
In the hearing, the ruling coalition have decided to object to the current bench.
According to sources, Attorney General and lawyers of ruling parties will raise objections on the bench tomorrow, three major parties PML-N,PPP and JUI-F in the government coalition will request the Chief Justice to form a full court, while the request of the full court was rejected and they decided to boycott the court proceedings.
Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail and Justice Aminuddin Khan have already separated from the election case bench, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail has agreed to hear the case if a full court is formed.
It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has declared full confidence in the current bench.Imran Khan says that he has no objection to hear the case of the current bench or the full court.PTI has filed a petition in the Supreme Court against the Election Commission’s decision to postpone the Punjab and KP elections till October 8.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan rejects government’s request for full court. A diminished Supreme Court bench — comprising three judges — on Friday rejected Attorney General for Pakistan (AGP) Mansoor Awan’s request for the formation of a full court to hear PTI’s petition against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to postpone elections to the Punjab Assembly till Oct 8.
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Munib Akhtar heard the case after the original five-member bench constituted for the matter was disbanded following the recusals of Justice Aminuddin Khan and Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail.
The original bench included:Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial,Justice Ijazul Ahsan,Justice Munib Akhtar,Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail,Justice Aminuddin Khan.
The recusal of Justice Mandokhail, which came a day after Justice Khan, took the apex court by surprise today and fuelled calls from government figures to constitute a full court to hear the case.However, it was CJP Bandial, Justice Ahsan and Justice Akhtar who conducted the proceedings.
The CJP remarked, adding that he would hold some meetings after the hearing. “Monday’s sun will rise with good news.”
