BAKU: The X Global Baku Forum on “The World Today: Challenges and Hopes” concluded in Baku on the other day.The conference was organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
According to details, 360 representatives from 61 countries of the world are participating in this forum. There is no doubt that the growing interest of some states in this forum is also related to the fact that the right and purposeful political-strategic line of Azerbaijan is in good hands. If we take into account that serious crises are continuing in the world at the moment, and despite these crises, Azerbaijan regularly appeals to the world community for peace, stability and security, then we can understand how important we are to our region and the world.
From the first days of Azerbaijan’s independence, the interest of international powers in our country cannot be ignored. In particular, the “Contract of the Century” signed on September 20, 1994 increased the interest of large oil and gas companies, as well as the BP company belonging to the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to our country, which stimulated the strengthening and deepening of inter-country relations.
It is as a result of this that during the Second Karabakh war, Barbara Woodward, the permanent representative of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the UN Security Council, vetoed any non-objective statement against Azerbaijan. This is the clearest example of how to develop bilateral relations at a high level. Of course, all these mentioned issues also indicate that in the new world order that is being established, Azerbaijan maintains the potential to continue deep cooperation with Great Britain and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland.
A letter addressed by Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, was read to the X Global Baku Forum on “The World Today: Challenges and Hopes” organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. One of the most important issues mentioned in that letter today is Azerbaijan’s green energy initiative, the issue of transferring energy through the bottom of the Black Sea. In his letter, the Prime Minister also emphasizes that “Great Britain will be the main partner of Azerbaijan in the energy transition”.
This means that Azerbaijan will continue to be the main and reliable partner for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
