ISLAMABAD: In spite of NHA Executive Board Members reservations and others issues NHA approved the construction of proposed multi story residential complex at junction of M1 and M2 loop /interchange in Islamabad. Sources said this tantamount of bulldozing all the rules and regulations of the NHA.
The NHA Executive Board meeting was held on Wednesday under the Chairmanship of Chairman NHA.
According to sources this decision will have implications throughout the country on the Motor Ways and NHA highways network. As it will be harder for NHA to get compliance of building line.
This will further aggravate the road safety situation on Motorways and High ways in the country.
After the approval of the NHA board this will approved from National Highway Council for implementation of the project. Minister of Communication is the Chairman of the NHC.
The sources further said that NHA will be using its maintenance funds for the construction of this proposed residential complex. Where as most of the highways and some of the motorways sections are in dire need of maintenance.
The NHA sources demanded that concerned authorities of country should take notice of this blatant used of misused of authority of the NHA high-up’s.
It is mentioned here that the proposed multi story residential complex project at junction of M1 and M2 loop /interchange in Islamabad was opposed by Eleven members NHA Executive Board in the last meeting which was held on last Tuesday.
According to details the NHA could not convinced the members as they failed to reply the technical points raised by the members.
The sources confirmed to the WORLD TRIBUNE that in the Wednesday meeting the Chairman NHA imposed his decision on NHA Executive Board and approved the proposed project as per desired of the Minister of Communication.
According to the sources the Chairman NHA is misusing his powers with tacit support of Federal Minister of Communication and to violate NHA rules and regulations for their vested interest which will hamper the national interest.
