Chairman NHA misusing his powers with tacit support of Minister to violate rules,regulations

ISLAMABAD: Majority of National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board Members opposed the construction of proposed a multi stories residential complex at junction of M1 and M2 loop /interchange in Islamabad.

The NHA Executive Board meeting was held on Tuesday under the Chairmanship of Chairman NHA.
Eleven members of the board were participated in the meeting. Majority of the members opposed the construction of proposed project on the valid technical grounds.

According to details the NHA could not convinced the members as they failed to reply the technical points raised by the members.

According to experts apart from others concerned the construction of proposed residential complex would negatively affect the level of service and may become security threats for VIP movement.

According to sources in first two session the members don’t approve the proposal and a special session on Wednesday Feb.1,2023 has been convened to get the approval from the board in-spite of members’ reservations.
The sources confirmed that the Minister Communication and Chairman NHA want to get the approval at any cost from Board through misusing their authority for unknown reasons or personal interest.

According to the responsible sources the Chairman NHA is misusing his powers with tacit support of Federal Minister of Communication and to violate NHA rules and regulations for their vested interest which will hamper the national interest.

An attempt was made by this correspondent to know NHAs’ position but the concerned did not attend the phone,but if they gives his version WORLD TRIBUNE will publish it.
