ISLAMABAD: President of Iran Dr Masoud Pezeshkian landed in Islamabad on Saturday for a two-day official visit, to strengthen bilateral relations with Pakistan in all fields.
President Pezeshkian arrived at Nur Khan Air Base, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar received him.
Both the countries agreed to evaluate trade and economic relations including border trade.
Pakistan and Iran are two friendly,neighbour countries having historical relations.Both the countries has recently expressed solidarity and a desire for cooperation in different fields to further improve the ties. Both the countries have great potential in all fields including barter trade.
This is the first Official visit of Irani President Dr Pezeshkian.
Ahead of his trip, Pakistan yesterday Pledged to help defuse Tension between Iran and the United States.
PM Shehbaz received Dr Pezeshkian warmly welcome and said he was honoured to welcome the Iranian president and looked forward to “substantive engagements during this important visit that will pave the way forward for stronger Pakistan-Iran ties”.
