South Waziristan Upper Headquarter dispute: Jirgas’ decision ignored

WANA- UNS: Mehsud tribal jirga decision on the construction of the headquarters of Upper Waziristan is being ignored,by the  local MPA and administration.

This  is a tragic and unfair step that will spread the area of ​​anxiety in tribals,said s tribal elder.

According to details the 353 respected elders of the Mehsud tribe unanimously decided that the new headquarters would be built in the “Spankai Raghazai”, a joint area of ​​”Dar Mehsud”in South Waziristan.
The area is comprised of Manzai, Billezai, and Shaman Khel, which are three major branches of the Mehsud tribe.
The decision was reserved in writing, which represents the collective decision of the Mehsud tribe.

According to the sourced a Local MPA Asif Mehsud is using political influence for his own interests.
So, that the headquarters can be shifted to Ladha Tehsil.
It is not only a violation of the collective decision of the Mehsud cast, but also a contempt of the tribal jirga system.
Anwar Hayat Mehsud President Awami National Party fully endorsed the unanimous decision of tribals elders of South Waziristan,
And he has appealed to the government to immediately stop the construction of the headquarters and to build a unanimous place of the Mehsud tribes on Spinky Raghazai.

He said that it was not just a land problem, but it was a matter of dignity of Mehsud tribe, respect for the traditions of the tribal jirga, and protection of public aspirations.
