Another historic expedition by SNGPL mountaineer: Sadpara departs to conquer Nanga Parbat

LAHORE -UNS:Ashraf Sadpara, a renowned mountaineer from the Sui Northern Gas mountaineering team, has embarked on a historic mission to summit Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters). This marks his fifth expedition to conquer a peak above 8,000 meters. With this achievement, he will not only join the ranks of the world’s most prominent mountaineers but also become one of the few in Pakistan who have summited all five of Pakistan’s 8,000+ meters peaks.

Previously, Ashraf Sadpara has successfully climbed the following four major peaks in Pakistan, all without the use of supplemental oxygen:
• K2 (8,611 meters)
• Gasherbrum I (8,080 meters)
• Broad Peak (8,051 meters)
• Gasherbrum II (8,035 meters)
Throughout his professional career, Ashraf Sadpara has not only demonstrated exceptional performance but also brought honor to the organization as an active and dedicated player representing the Sui Northern Sports Cell.
To mark this significant occasion, a flag-off ceremony was held at the Sui Northern Gas head office, where Managing Director Amer Tufail, DMD (Services) Faisal Iqbal, DMD (Operations) Arbab Saqib, President Sports Cell Imtiaz Mahmood, and other senior officials bid him farewell with best wishes and prayers. On the occasion, the President of the Sports Cell said:
“Ashraf Sadpara is not only an asset to Sui Northern but also to Pakistan. We pray for his success and safety.”
Nanga Parbat, often referred to as the “Killer Mountain”, is the ninth-highest in the world and the second-highest in Pakistan. It is considered one of the most technically challenging peaks. This expedition by Ashraf Sadpara is not just a personal milestone — it symbolizes the proud display of both the Pakistani flag as well as the Sui Northern Gas flag on the world’s highest summits.
Sui Northern Gas is fully supporting his expedition and prays for his successful return, bringing further glory to the company and the nation.
