North American investors,leading conglomerates attend  PIA Privatization presentation

ISLAMABAD: Under the auspices of the Privatisation Commission of Pakistan, a high-level presentation was held to engage prospective investors for the strategic sale of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). The event was attended by distinguished North American investors and prominent business groups based in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The delegation was welcomed by Mohammad Ali, Chairman of the Privatisation Commission, and the CEO of PIA, along with representatives from Ernst & Young (E&Y) and other senior officials.

The lead investors, Ms. Shazia Sharaf (Chairperson) and Nasim Siddiqi (Director) of MEGA Group, expressed appreciation for the transparent and facilitative approach adopted by the Privatisation Commission team.

The North American investor group, which has formed a consortium of leading organizations both within and outside Pakistan, reaffirmed its commitment to transforming PIA into a regional aviation leader with world-class operational standards.

Speaking at the event, Nasim Siddiqi lauded the professionalism of the presentation and commended the business-friendly environment fostered by the Privatisation Commission. He emphasized the importance of such strategic transactions in attracting high-quality foreign direct investment into Pakistan.

This initiative is expected to open the door for a broader wave of North American private sector investments into Pakistan in the near future.

The lead financial advisor to the North American investor consortium for this transaction is Alliott Hadi Shahid, a leading Dubai-based chartered accountancy and advisory firm.
