Saifullah acknowledges Türkiye’s support in conflict, reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to stand by Türkiye

PESHAWAR -UNS: Salim Saifullah Khan, former Senator, Federal Minister, and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has expressed deep appreciation for the timely and unwavering support extended by Türkiye to Pakistan during the recent hostilities with India.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Khan stated that the government and people of Pakistan are grateful for the solidarity shown by Türkiye, especially under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who personally called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to express support following Indian missile strikes in Pakistani territory and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. He noted that this expression of unity in a time of national crisis further cements the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Khan highlighted Türkiye’s strategic cooperation, including military collaboration and the provision of advanced drone technology, which played a key role in enhancing Pakistan’s defensive capabilities during the recent escalation. “Türkiye stood with us not just diplomatically but also in real, tangible ways that strengthened our national defense,” he said.

Pakistan’s armed forces successfully downed five Indian aircraft in response to the aggression and remain on high alert. Mr. Khan said such moments reveal who one’s true friends are. “Türkiye has never wavered in its support for Pakistan—whether in times of war, natural disasters, or diplomatic isolation. We are proud of this brotherhood.”

He further emphasized, “If, God forbid, Türkiye ever faces a moment of hardship, Pakistan will be the first nation to stand shoulder to shoulder with our Turkish brethren. Our nations are bound not just by history, faith, and values, but by mutual respect and unwavering solidarity.”

Khan also stressed the importance of expanding this relationship in areas of defense cooperation, humanitarian relief, cultural exchange, and economic integration, saying that the unity between Pakistan and Türkiye is a model for the Muslim world.
