Pakistani nation demands termination of Simla agreement: Sindhu

ISLAMABAD -UNS: President of Pakistan Markazi Muslim League, Khalid Masood Sindhu, has stated that the foundation of the Kashmir issue lies in the Simla Agreement, which the Pakistani nation now demands to be abolished. He emphasized that the founding father of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, described Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of Pakistan and that his stance on Kashmir—based on United Nations resolutions—must be implemented to grant Kashmiris their right to freedom.

Addressing a meeting at the party’s central secretariat, Sindhu declared that Indian actions have reaffirmed the ideology of Pakistan as essential for its survival, and liberating the jugular vein is a national obligation. “The recent communiqué from the National Security Committee reflects the sentiments of 240 million Pakistanis,” he added.

He condemned India’s irresponsible behavior and announced full support for the National Security Committee’s declaration. He further stated that a nationwide protest will take place today (Friday) to oppose Indian aggression, asserting that the nation must unite for Pakistan’s defense.

The meeting was also attended by Markazi Muslim League Secretary General Saifullah Kasuri and Central Spokesperson Tabish Qayyum. During the session, Sindhu criticized Indian water aggression as a direct attack on Pakistan’s lifeline, pledging a joint response by the people and armed forces of Pakistan.

“If Modi doesn’t back off, all agreements including the Simla Accord should be suspended,” he said. He called for a single-point Kashmir policy focused on freeing Kashmir from Indian occupation and suggested suspending trade ties with India as a reflection of public sentiment.

Sindhu urged Pakistanis to boycott Indian movies and music worldwide and announced that the Markazi Muslim League would be out on the streets again today for the defense of Pakistan. “Protests will be held in every city against India’s actions,” he concluded.
