ISLAMABAD -UNS: Renowned journalist Javed Shehzad was laid to rest in the presence of hundreds of mourners in large cemetery of Chauhar Chowk area of Rawalpindi on Monday.
A large number of dignitaries from different walks of life participated in the funeral, including journalists, political leaders, former Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Former Provincial Minister Dr. Jamal Nasir,ex- MNA Zamard Khan, Chairman PEMRA Mirza Saleem Baig, Chief Editor, Ausaf Media Group, Mehtab Khan, Senior Journalist Khushnood Ali Khan, Afzal Butt, President PFUJ, Editor,World Tribune, Iftikhar Mashwani, Tariq Butt ,Daily Mumtaz, President 4th Pillar,Mirza, Resident Editor, Jang, Tahir Khalil, Nawaz Raza President PFUJ Dastoor,Senior Journalist,Tariq Virk President RIUJ,Anwar Raza Ex-president NPC, Sajjad Azhar,Senior Journalist, Mateen Haider,Senior Journalists including Hasseb Bhatti, Manzoor Malik, Shahid Malik also present. Service and Retired Government Officers, Lawyers,Members Cantonment Board, businessmen, representatives of civil society, teachers, close friends of the deceased, relatives, elders of the area and a large number of citizens participated in the funeral prayer.
Journalists and people from different walk of life paid tribute to Javed Shehzads’ personality and journalistic services.He was a wonderful performer ,dedicated,visionary and distinguished journalist who died of cardiac arrest the other day.
