Pak-Saudi friendship and positive role of Pakistanis in KSA

By: Engineer Iftikhar Chaudhry
The bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is an unparalleled story of friendship between two Islamic brotherly nations. These ties are not limited to diplomatic relations but are built on religious, cultural, and social foundations, bringing the two nations closer together and providing countless opportunities for progress and prosperity.
When it comes to Saudi Arabia, I feel immense pride in having spent 27 years of my life in this great land. This country not only became a source of my livelihood but also a hub for joy and beautiful memories. My children, who used to play in the courtyards of the Haram and run between Safa and Marwah, still cherish those moments today.
There are countless opportunities for Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia. Recently, Saudi Arabia captured the attention of the world by winning the bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. After this victory, business and investment opportunities have increased exponentially.
Dr. Sameera Aziz, a well-known businesswoman and media personality in Saudi Arabia, has provided a fantastic opportunity for Pakistani entrepreneurs. She has offered to assist them with the company registration process so they can take full advantage of these prospects.
These opportunities are not just empty promises. I have personally witnessed the success of Khalid Zia, who previously operated limited projects under sponsorship. Today, by the grace of Allah, he is a major contractor with firms like Al-Naghi Motors, Al-Majdoui, and Al-Walan, holding a prominent position in Saudi Arabia’s automobile and construction industry.
Similarly, the mention of Zulqarnain Ali Khan is also noteworthy, who was a colleague of Imran Khan and served as the Managing Director of Utility Stores Corporation. He has pledged to provide 200 dialysis machines to improve the healthcare sector in Pakistan, and discussions on this matter are ongoing.
Furthermore, Engineer Shafqat Dhool’s contributions are commendable. He has played an outstanding role in infrastructure and other sectors in Saudi Arabia. His hard work and dedication make him an exemplary figure for the Pakistani community.
The Pakistani Consul General in Jeddah, Khalid Majid, also plays a crucial role in strengthening the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. His hard work and determination have created numerous opportunities for the Pakistani community.
Often, people ask, “What do overseas Pakistanis do? Do they only send money to their families?” The clear answer is: No!
Overseas Pakistanis are the real heroes of the economy. Not only are they strengthening their homeland economically, but they are also making significant contributions to healthcare and education sectors.
For example, Dr. Khalil and Khalid Zia have established a 50-bed kidney center in Havelian, which is a gift not only for Hazara but for the whole of Pakistan. This center is equipped with modern facilities and provides excellent healthcare services.
The relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is not just about agreements or economic ties but is based on faith and belief, a strong friendship. Saudi Arabia has always provided respect and opportunities to Pakistanis.
My children, such as Shakeel, who worked in Saudi Arabia for seven years, never felt that this country was foreign to them. Unlike Europe, where Pakistani generations are drifting away from Islam, Saudi Arabia’s environment is fully aligned with Islamic teachings. The hospitality, love, and honesty of the Saudi people serve as an example for the Pakistani community.
I still remember the days when we used to travel from Jeddah to Makkah. My children, Noman, Nabeel, Shakeel, and Dildar, used to run between Safa and Marwah and were eager to have “Al Baik” on our return. These moments are not only cherished memories for the family but also reflect the beauty of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Now is the time to recognize the services of overseas Pakistanis. Politicians like Khawaja Asif need to understand that overseas Pakistanis are not just a source of foreign exchange but the pillars of Pakistan’s economy.
Additionally, the mention of Hazara’s son, Sajjad Qamar, is necessary. He has not only achieved success in Saudi Arabia through his hard work but has also played a vital role in strengthening Pak-Saudi relations.
Sajjad Qamar’s efforts are not limited to personal success. He has helped create job opportunities for the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia and guided them towards success. His leadership has been crucial in the success of figures like Khalid Zia, Zulqarnain Ali Khan, and Shafqat Dhool.
All these efforts show that sincere individuals can make a positive impact not only in their homeland but also on the global stage.
Lastly, it is important to mention our services for the development of the Hazara region. The Kidney Center in Havelian is a part of this effort. I salute Sardar Khalil and others like him, who have made this land a hub of hope and peace, providing excellent healthcare services.
Pak-Saudi relations, the sacrifices of overseas Pakistanis, and our efforts for Hazara’s development are a guarantee of a bright future. These relations are not only part of our faith but also open doors to progress.
Long live Pakistan, long live Saudi Arabia, and may Pak-Saudi friendship always endure!
Spread the love
