Case registered against human traffickers linked to boat incident in Greece

FAISALABAD -UNS: The FIA Circle Faisalabad has made a significant move in tackling human trafficking and smuggling.A case against three human traffickers, linked to the tragic boat incident in Greece, has been registered.

In addition, two FIA officers, Inspector Zubair Ashraf and Sub-Inspector Shahid Imran, have been arrested for negligence during their duties at Faisalabad Airport. These officers were serving as shift in-charges and failed to properly screen passengers.

Eighteen victims of the tragic Greece boat accident had departed from Faisalabad Airport. While 17 of them were rescued, one, named Sufyan, tragically lost his life in the incident. The victims had paid large sums of money to an agent, Abdul Rauf, for arranging their illegal travel to Greece. Along with Rauf, human traffickers Abbas Zulfiqar and Qamar Zaman have been nominated in the case.

The FIA has launched a full-scale investigation, with efforts underway to apprehend the remaining suspects. Raids are being conducted, and all available resources are being used to ensure the swift arrest of the traffickers.
