Tarbela Ghazi (Dr. Pervaiz Awan ) :WAPDA Postgraduate College Tarbela Hosts Celebratory Event Honoring Outstanding Student Achievements.
According to the details, WAPDA Postgraduate College Tarbela hosted a grand ceremony to recognize the exceptional academic achievements of its students. Mr. Anwar Shah, General Manager of Tarbela was distinguished chief guest at occasion. The event was commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a heartfelt naat, setting a reverent tone for the occasion. A spirited speech competition then followed, with enthusiastic participation from students who delivered inspiring addresses showcasing their eloquence and talent.
The college proudly announced that its students had secured top positions in recent exams (Fall 2020 – Spring 2024) held by the University of Haripur. This outstanding performance underscores the college,s commitment to educational excellence and its role in nurturing academic talent. In the BS Economics program, Iqra Gul achieved the highest honors, placing first in the university, with Adeelia Bibi and Aneesa Zaib securing second and third positions, respectively. Hammad Zameer Khan from the BS Computer Science department also made his mark with a first-place finish, while Muhammad Jawad from the Chemistry department earned a prestigious third-place ranking. These awards underscore the students’ dedication and their mastery in their fields of study.
College Principal Mr. Kamran Khalid congratulated the students, faculty, and staff, expressing pride in their accomplishments. “Our students’ achievements are a testament to their hard work, commitment, and resilience,” he said. “They also reflect the relentless dedication of our faculty and staff in upholding academic standards and nurturing each student’s potential.”
He further remarked, “Our college continues to set new benchmarks in academic excellence, and we are determined to provide our students with the highest quality education and opportunities to flourish in their future careers.”
Founded in 1978, WAPDA Postgraduate College offers free education to the children of WAPDA employees and serves as a pivotal educational institution for students in the Tarbela region. Affiliated with the University of Haripur for its BS programs, the college provides degrees in diverse disciplines, including English, Computer Science, Economics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of shields and certificates to winners of the speech competition, as well as medals for students who excelled in the Haripur Board examinations. Chief guest of the occasion Mr. Anwar Shah, in his closing remarks, commended the students’ impressive oratory skills and academic achievements. “I congratulate each of these outstanding students,” he stated. “Their achievements bring pride not only to our institution but also reflect their potential to honor our country in the future.”
