KARACHI-UNS: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Sindh has initiated extensive relief operations for victims affected by recent rains in Jacobabad. Syed Salman Shah, Director General of PDMA Sindh, announced that relief supplies have been delivered to the Deputy Commissioner for distribution among the rain-affected residents of Jacobabad district.
In a press release issued here on today the DG PDMA Sindh further said that the relief supplies include 400 tents, 1,500 mosquito nets, 400 jerry cans, 50 mattresses, 300 sleeping mats, and 300 hygiene kits. These items are intended to provide immediate support and comfort to those impacted by the severe weather conditions.
In addition, he detailed that PDMA Sindh has provided 75 heavy-duty truck-mounted dewatering pumps to district administrations and municipal corporations to aid in the drainage of rainwater across various districts. For specific needs, 10 heavy-duty water pumping machines have been allocated to Shaheed Benazirabad district, and 5 additional truck-mounted dewatering pumps have been supplied to Karachi.
He said that this comprehensive response underscores PDMA Sindh’s commitment to addressing the challenges posed by recent floods and ensuring effective management and relief across the affected areas.
