Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir issue consistent,resolute:Chairman Senate

ISLAMABAD-UNS: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani while leading a delegation of the members of Senate and National Assembly held a meeting with UK based representatives of Jammu & Kashmir Self Determination Movement, International Lobby on Kashmir and International Students Society based in UK. He reiterated that Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue has been consistent and resolute. He condemned Indian brutal use of force against the innocent kashmiris. During the meeting, he said that Indian army has blatantly violated international law by denying the people their just right. He acknowledged the efforts of the UK based platforms working for raising voice for Kashmiri people.

He said that Pakistan has highlighted the Kashmir issue at all international forums such as the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and other global platforms to garner international support and put pressure on India to address the human rights violations in the region. The Chairman Senate said that Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri cause is a central element of its foreign policy, and it continues to seek a peaceful resolution based on international law , the UN Security Council Resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The Kashmiri delegation delegation included Raja Najabat Hussain, Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Self Determination Movement International, Former Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Yasmine Dar Chairperson International Lobby on Kashmir and Zeshan Araf President International Students Society.

They appreciated the remarks of Chairman Senate and thanked the Chairman for such a vocal and clear stance on Kashmir.
