UNS/AFP: Gaza’s civil defence agency has said that Israel’s military operation around Khan Younis has killed about 170 people and wounded hundreds since it began on Monday, AFP reports.
“Since the beginning of the Israeli military operation in the Khan Younis area, we are talking of approximately 170 martyrs and hundreds of wounded,” agency spokesman Mahmoud Bassal told AFP.
He said many people were displaced again today as the Israeli operation continued.
“The question is where will these residents go?” Bassal said.
The health ministry in the Gaza Strip has said an Israeli strike hit a school housing a field hospital, killing at least 30 people and wounding more than 100, AFP reports.
“A short while ago, the targeting of Khadija school, which had a field medical unit inside it, in Deir el-Balah area, resulted in 30 martyrs and more than 100 wounded,” the ministry said in a statement.
Israeli military said it carried out a strike on the school, claiming it was targeting “terrorists” operating there.
