Gujranwala :Under the special direction of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical steps have been started for large-scale planting of trees along the Gujranwala Expressway and in the first phase, the Punjab government has planned to plant more or less 40,000 saplings along the expressway. 6 crore 18 lakhs has been provided to the Forest Department for the continuous maintenance of the forest for two years.
In this regard, in the meeting chaired by Commissioner Gujranwala Division Syed Naveed Haider Shirazi, MPA Imran Khalid Butt, Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Tariq Qureshi, Conservative of Forest Mazhar Hussain, Divisional Forest Officer Qazi Abdulr Haim and other relevant officers Participated.
The commissioner made it clear that under the vision and directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the maintenance of plantations should be done with full responsibility and local trees and plants should be prioritized in plantations so as to enhance the environmental beauty. Local birds can also get food and suitable environment for breeding.
