ISLAMABAD :The Embassy of Russian Federation celebrated Defender of the Fatherland Day in Islamabad.The Russian Military Attaché Defense Attaché Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko and the Russian Ambassador Albert P. Khoreev was organized a grand ceremony on the Fatherland Defense Day by paying tribute to the Russian armed forces. Air Vice Marshal Abid Latif of the Pakistan Air Force graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, reinforcing the strong ties between Russia and Pakistan.
The ceremony kicked off with the national anthems of both nations, symbolizing the enduring bond they share. Ambassador Albert P Khorev, along with Defence Attache Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko and Chief Guest Air Vice Marshal Abid Latif, ceremonially cut a cake adorned with Russian and Pakistani flags.
Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko, Russian Defence Attache, extended gratitude and recognition to the diverse gathering, emphasizing the sacrifices made by Russian forces for the safety and stability of their nation. This event not only highlighted the enduring friendship between Russia and Pakistan but also honored the dedication and sacrifices of Russian Defenders on Defender of the Fatherland Day.
On this occasion, Russian Defense Attaché Colonel Vadim N. Fenchenko welcomed the gathering, expressed gratitude and acknowledged the sacrifices of the Russian forces for the security and stability of Russia. He emphasized the important role of the Russian guards in the security of the country.

Pakistan and Russian have great potential in different fields including defense and bilateral trade ,economic cooperation. The bilateral trade between Pakistan and Russia has always been in favor of Russia but there a big demands of Pakistani products in Russian market. Bilateral trade reached an all-time high in 2020 of $758 million. Pakistan’s major exports to Russia comprised of textiles and textile articles (HS-50-63) which accounted for 40 percent of Pakistan’s total exports to Russia in 2020.
