Iran’s invites Kuwait for negotiations on Dara oil field dispute

TEHRAN -UNS: Tehran insists on solving the Dara (Arsh) field issue through negotiations and on the basis of previous talks by experts.In response to the statement of the Emir of Kuwait’s visit to Bahrain, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Nasser Kanani, said that Iran is ready to negotiate Dara (Arsh) field with  Kuwait.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has said with reference to Kanani that his country believes in the possibility of reaching an agreement on this matter in an atmosphere of cooperation and respect for common interests.

Ready to continue negotiations for a peaceful and lasting solution to this issue Kanani said, “Making unilateral allegations in various statements and media outlets cannot be considered as a step towards solving this problem.

At the end of Kuwait’s Amir al-Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s visit to Manama. Kuwait and Bahrain declared Darra Field as part of Kuwait’s maritime territory in a joint statement.

The Darrah oil field and its other natural resources are owned by Kuwait and this area is part of the sub-sea area adjacent to the Saudi zone.

Only Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have the full right to benefit from the natural resources of this region. On the other hand, in the statement, “any allegations related to the existence of the rights of any other party in this field were clearly rejected.
