ISLAMABAD -UNS: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has in very strong words condemned a report published by Al-Jazeera on October 2, written by some unknown reporter on an 85 paged response submitted by Muhammad Yasin Malik to Delhi High Court in India on NIA’s death penalty petition against him. The JKLF doubts its veracity and genuineness as the un-named reporter using the platform, without going deep into the document and its content, has come up with a wrongly twisted heading for the report.

Muhammad Rafiq Dar, the chief spokesman of JKLF and the special representative of Yasin Malik, in a statement issued from party’s central information office has termed the report as fake and venomous as it was unusually written by some unnamed reporter with hidden malafide intentions to tarnish the image of the most revered pro-freedom political leader of Jammu Kashmir.

The spokesman in very categorical terms has warned the media platform that JKLF reserves the right of defamation sue if the report is not rectified by Al-Jazeera at earliest. He said that the illegally incarcerated chairman JKLF, Muhammad Yasin Malik for his character, sacrifices, selflessness and unmatched pro-active role he has played so far in the freedom struggle of Jammu Kashmir, is the most popular pro-freedom political leader of Jammu Kashmir who enjoys unprecedented and overwhelming support of the people of Jammu Kashmir living from across the both sides of the ceasefire line and that the act of the un-named reporter is unacceptable and intolerable.

According to the statement, for being the sole representative of the current national liberation struggle of Jammu Kashmir the spokesman termed Yasin Malik as a real peacemaker, hero of Kashmiri people and none other than Kashmiri nation’s proud asset. He stated that the 85 paged response of Yasin Malik to NIA’s death penalty petition should serve as an eye opener for all his foes and friends.

Yasin Malik ever since his release in May 1994 till his last arrest in February 2019 has been sharing and discussing the background and the reasons of his decision of transition from violent to non-violent mode in conferences, public gatherings, TV Talk shows and corner meetings, the spokesman added. His decision of suspension of arms struggle, endorsed by JKLF as party in an over 48 hours long meeting of Supreme Revolutionary Command Council – SRCC (the then JKLF’s highest joint decision making body comprising upon the representatives of party’s political, military and advisory councils), and his pro-active, sincere and selfless involvement in dialogue process that revolved around resolution of Kashmir issue only at the highest level was an open secret.

Yasin Malik through this honest and truthful detailed response to NIA’s plea has actually exposed Mr. Modi led government of India’s myth and its nefarious design of portraying him as a dreaded terrorist, the statement read. To understand Yasin Malik, his struggle and the document one needs to have vision and to come out of bias, the spokesman added. As mentioned in the document, the spokesman identified that the idea of taking on board the indigenous militant leadership in the dialogue process was his own idea that was supported by all stakeholders including Late Dr. Manmohan Sigh led government of India and the US State Department. Therefore, his purposeful meetings with militant leadership was not on the behest of anybody but was a part of the process with the aim to let the dialogue process become a serious and result oriented resolution process rather than a doubtful or assassination process, he explained.

Muhammad Rafiq Dar in his statement further informed that Indian agencies through their decades long used mouth pieces like Junaid Qureshi (son of Hashim Qureshi) and RC Ganjoo has started a vicious campaign against Yasin Malik. These Indian agency nut bolts, who do not have any standing in Kashmir, through their venomous writings on social media are actually trying to justify their incentives they receive from their new handlers in Kashmir as their offices in Europe have already been shut down by old ones.

According to the statement the JKLF chief spokesman made it clear that by sipping wine and whiskey in Srinagar club these touts think their late night meetings can produce anything substantial against freedom movement as their act is like barking at a lion in a cage that hardly anybody listens to in Kashmir. He said that these handful of agents need to stop spreading venom against Yasin Malik on the behest of their masters for the Patiala Court judgment of 25 May, 2022 has up to their satisfaction mentioned his bank account and property details which reads that Yasin Malik bears no bank account at all and that he owns his inherited property only that includes a two room small house in Maisuma and ancestral land in Zalangam, Kukarnag.

Meanwhile, the JKLF chief spokesman while congratulating the people in AJK on procuring their rights has expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the families of all those who lost their lives during the movement, including the policemen. He lamented on the statements of those politicians in AJK who after shouldering off their follies and responsibilities hold JKLF responsible for the rights movement led by Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee – JKJAAC. He said that JKLF, like anybody else in AJK, has been supportive of all non-political demands put forth by the JKJAAC based purely on people’s rights.
