Islamabad:The Federal Capital Police have apologized for the brutal police violence, cruelty, and illegal arrests of male and female lawyers during the protest outside the National Press Club by going on stage at the Lawyers’ Martyrs’ Hall and putting themselves at their mercy.

According to details Capital Police SP Khalid Awan, along with DSP Naeem, DSP Sajid Cheema, SHO Kohsar Police Station Khurram Shahzad, SHO Shalimar Police Station Shafqat Faiz and SHO Ramna Police Station Rafaqat Gujjar reached the office of Islamabad Bar Association’s President Nadeem Ali Gujjar in the District Court, representing the IG Islamabad.

They expressed their shame and embarrassment over the brutal torture of other junior staff led by SHO Kohsar Khurram Shahzad and the illegal arrests of innocent lawyers, and requested them to forgive them and leave themselves at the mercy of the lawyers.
Which was approved by the lawyers’ leadership and the five officers went to the Bar Association’s Martyrs’ Hall and, abandoning themselves to their mercy, apologized to the male as well as female lawyers and assured them that SOPs would be formulated through mutual consultation to control any such brutal acts by the police in the future.
SP Khalid said that a specific location will be determined through mutual consultation for the lawyers’ for future protests. While the police will also provide complete security to the lawyers during the protest.
It may be recalled that on Thursday, during a protest outside the National Press Club, a police team led by SHO Kohsar Police Station Mian Khurram Shahzad and other personnel subjected male and female lawyers who had come to express solidarity with the Azad Kashmir Joint Action Committee to brutal torture and brutality and arrested them. And the aforementioned police had entered the National Press Club and subjected journalists and club staff and tortured them .
Later, the arrested lawyers were released after the Islamabad Bar Association protested.

However, the leadership of the Islamabad Bar Association gave the IG Islamabad a deadline of Saturday morning to apologize for the shameful act of brutality, violence and illegal arrests by the 11 police, making it clear that otherwise no policeman would be allowed to enter any court.
