Islamabad- UNS: Acting President of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, has strongly condemned the brutal and cowardly attack by Israeli forces on the Global Samud (Steadfastness) Flotilla, which was carrying humanitarian aid to the besieged people of Gaza.

Acting President Gilani described the assault as a blatant violation of international law, humanitarian principles, and the dignity of mankind. He said the act constitutes “state terrorism and barbaric savagery,” leaving a permanent stain on the conscience of the international community.

The Acting President noted that the flotilla, consisting of 40 boats, carried over 450 human rights activists and relief volunteers from 44 countries. The sole mission of the convoy, he said, was to deliver food, medicines, and essential supplies to the trapped and suffering population of Gaza. “The only ‘crime’ of these innocent and selfless individuals was that they sought to stand by the oppressed Palestinians in the spirit of human compassion,” he remarked.

Gilani called upon the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights bodies to take immediate notice of the grave crime and hold Israel accountable for its inhumane actions. He stressed that urgent steps must be taken to ensure uninterrupted delivery of food, water, medicines, and other essentials to the people of Gaza, who are enduring immense hardship under siege.

“The demands of peace, justice, and humanity are clear — humanitarian aid must reach those in desperate need, and the already suffering people of Gaza must not be subjected to further misery,” Gilani emphasized

Reiterating Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, the Acting President declared that Pakistan would continue to extend political, diplomatic, and moral backing to the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.
