PESHAWAR -UN: Security forces have arrested five alleged suicide attackers while successfully thwarting an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan.

The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on July 17, when the group of militants attempted to cross into Pakistani territory. Acting on intelligence, security forces immediately set up checkpoints at five strategic locations to block their entry.

At approximately 6:25 PM, the militants advanced towards the Aziz Khel and Mandi Khel areas. The forces responded promptly and managed to surround the infiltrators, who had taken refuge in a mosque in the Besi Khel area.

The situation was handled with careful planning, leading to a swift cordon off and search operation. Facing no escape, the militants eventually surrendered without resistance.

All apprehended individuals were identified as Afghan nationals, aged between 15 and 18. Security sources confirmed that three of them were carrying Afghan national identity cards.

The captured terrorists have been moved to an undisclosed location for further interrogation, while a comprehensive search operation in the region remains underway.

In recent months, multiple infiltration attempts across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border have been foiled.
