Iqbal’s message offers clear guidance for today’s working class: Hafiz Talha Saeed

Lahore-UNS: Vice President of Markazi Muslim League (MML), Hafiz Talha Saeed, has said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s message of hard work, self-realization, justice, and collective welfare continues to offer real guidance for today’s working class.

He expressed these views while addressing the Workers Convention organized by the Pakistan Milli Labour Federation.

Hafiz Talha Saeed emphasized that Iqbal’s concept of khudi (selfhood) is a foundation for empowering workers, ensuring their economic security, and promoting transparency within state institutions. “Iqbal envisioned a society where labourers could live with equality, justice, and dignity.” He added.

Addressing the convention, Pakistan Milli Labour Federation (PMLF) President Rana Jabran, Secretary-General Mahboob Alam Sandhu, Sialkot President Muhammad Asif Bhutta, and other labour leaders highlighted that workers and employees across public and private sectors are the backbone of the national economy. Unfortunately, they noted, the workforce continues to face severe economic and administrative challenges that require urgent government attention.

The speakers urged the government to take sustainable measures for service structure reforms, upgradation, improved salaries, and pension protection to ensure that employees can continue to serve the nation with dignity and job security in line with Iqbal’s vision.

They reaffirmed that the PMLF will continue its struggle at every forum for the protection of labour rights, dignity, and welfare. A large number of Federation office-bearers and employees from both public and private sectors attended the Workers Convention.
