Istanbul, Turkey -UNS: The foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic countries, meeting in Istanbul on Monday, strongly condemned Israel’s violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and demanded the immediate and complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the region.
The meeting, hosted by Turkey, brought together representatives from Pakistan, Indonesia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates. Discussions centered on the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the urgent need for a sustainable peace process to end the ongoing conflict.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan, along with seven other Arab and Islamic nations, has been actively engaged in the peace initiative that culminated in the signing of the ‘Gaza Peace Agreement’ in Sharm el-Sheikh earlier this year.
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held in-depth consultations with his counterparts from other Arab and Islamic countries to outline a collective strategy for ensuring a durable ceasefire and lasting peace in Gaza.
In a joint communiqué, the participating ministers called for immediate and unhindered humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people and condemned Israel’s repeated violations of the ceasefire. They also urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to play a constructive role in ending the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
The ministers further demanded Israel’s complete withdrawal from all occupied Palestinian territories and stressed the urgent need for Gaza’s reconstruction through coordinated international efforts.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s consistent and principled stance, the statement reiterated Islamabad’s call for the establishment of an independent, viable, and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with Jerusalem (Al-Quds Al-Sharif) as its capital.
