‘Secretary Housing shows concern over shortage of water supply to G-13,G-14’

ISLAMABAD -UNS: According to sources the Secretary showed concerned over the shortage of water in G-13 and G-14. He also showed concerned in delaying tactics of water supply Scheme from Shah Allah Deta. The PC-1 of the said project was in the DWP meeting in Nov.24,2022. The completion time of the project was one year.But after three years the project is still pending due to the inefficiency of CDA and FGEHA.

In the summer season residents of G-13,G-14 badly suffered due to shortage of water.Both the sectors are facing a 2.5MGD shortage of water.

According to sources, ‘Tankers Mafia’ is active in G-13,G-14 for the last many years.’Tankers Mafia’ received over 70 to 80 crore rupees from the FGEHA every year.The said huge money which are received by ‘Tankers Mafia’ every year can be planned regular water supply scheme for the said sectors on regular basis,but due to the influence of the Mafia,major water supply projects like ‘Shah Allah Deta’ are halted.

According to the Press Release,Federal Secretary for Housing & Works, Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh, paid a visit to the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) on Monday.
He was warmly received by Director General (DG) Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and senior officers of the Housing Authority.
The Director General briefed the Federal Secretary on the ongoing and completed projects of the Housing Authority.
On this occasion, all directors of the Housing Authority, including Director Administration, Director Staff, Director Technical, and all other Directors were present.
DG Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal stated that FGEHA is committed to ensuring the provision of housing to government employees before their retirement. In this regard, FGEHA has launched excellent housing projects, which include the construction of high-rise buildings under the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This initiative aims to address housing shortages and implement the urban development policy effectively.
Keeping in view the Prime Minister’s vision, FGEHA has accelerated the pace of development work in various sectors to ensure the provision of modern facilities to allottees in a short time.
On this occasion, the Federal Secretary appreciated the efforts of DG FGEHA Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and his senior officers.
He emphasized the importance of timely completion of projects so that federal employees can fulfill their dream of owning a home. He praised the Housing Authority for successfully executing development projects in a short span of time.
The Federal Secretary assured DG FGEHA and his team of full support and cooperation.
