Saudi Arabia Unveils Details of Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2026

UNS: Saudi Arabia has officially announced the details of the seventh edition of the Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia, set to take place from January 3 to 17, 2026.

The global motorsports event will span multiple regions of the Kingdom, offering participants a challenging and diverse racing experience.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Corniche Circuit in Jeddah, where event organizers also revealed the newly designed route for the 2026 edition.

The conference was attended by Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and the Saudi Motorsport Company, along with international union representatives and officials from the Ministry of Sports.

Prince Khalid emphasized the continued evolution of the event, stating, “Every edition is a new story of Saudi spirit and innovation.” He highlighted that the Dakar Rally serves not only as a showcase of the Kingdom’s natural beauty but also as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s growing stature on the global sports stage.

According to Prince Khalid, the route for Dakar 2026 has been developed to reflect the remarkable geographic diversity of the Kingdom, taking competitors from expansive coastal sands to rugged mountain ranges.

He also praised Saudi driver Yazid Al-Rajhi, describing him as “the embodiment of the Saudi dream.”

Al-Rajhi’s accomplishments, he noted, continue to inspire young Saudis and support the nation’s efforts to develop a new generation of world-class drivers and navigators.

Saudi Arabia remains committed to strengthening its presence in international sports, including preparations to host what it aims to be the “most exciting World Cup” in 2034.
