RAWAPINDI-UNS: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is currently on an official visit to Brunei Darussalam, where he met with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei.
During the visit, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also held separate meetings with senior Bruneian leadership, including officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Minister of Defence Yang Berhomat Pehin Dato Lela Raja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halabi bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, and the Commander Royal Brunei Armed Forces Major General Dato Paduka Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.
Discussions during these meetings focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly bilateral defence cooperation and regional security.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence and military ties between Pakistan and Brunei Darussalam.
As part of his visit, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza also visited KDB Darul Aman and the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces at Muara Naval Base, where he delivered a lecture on “Pakistan’s Role in Regional Peace and Stability.” He interacted with local and international officers attending the Command and Staff Course and highlighted Pakistan’s contributions to regional and global peacekeeping efforts.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s continued commitment to enhancing defence collaboration and fostering enduring ties with friendly nations.
